Experience Description:

In a fun and busy four hours you will hear about, see, smell and taste a variety of wines.
During the tour there is a detailed commentary on the history of wine making in Sydney via our free app.

This experience starts at the forecourt of The Museum of Sydney (MoS) - the site where the very first vines were planted at what was known as Farm Cove (close to Circular Quay). Here you will be given a brief introduction to the early history of Sydney and the colony of New South Wales.

We then take a short 5 minute walk to the stunning Royal Botanic Gardens just up the road. Here you will be an exploration of the early history of wine in Australia, and it's birthplace - New South Wales! (NSW)

Next we board a private bus for short trip of about 15 minutes to The Urban Winery Sydney in The Entertainment Quarter. Here you will taste a range of wines from NSW, with a shared NSW Charcuterie and cheese platter. There is a guided tour included of the actual production areas of the wines (including the barrel room). At the completion of this visit you receive a souvenir bottle of wine to take home - brilliant!

The final part of the tour is a short private bus transfer of about 15 minutes to the Cellar Door of Handpicked Wines in Chippendale. Here you will be guided by an expert through 6 wines in a groovy, modern, urban setting. Tour participants receive a 10% discount on all in-store purchases/orders on the day.

This tour combines history, sightseeing, wine education, geography, wine production and tasting of wine with yummy food, and a souvenir bottle to try at home - the whole package!

When Are The Tours Held?
This experience is approximately 4 hours long, mostly operates on Tuesdays, as well as the second Sunday of each month - subject to availability.

What’s Included?

The price is inclusive of all taxes, tips, wine tasting, the presentation at the wineries, pick up and drop off (transfers).

The price quoted is for one person.

All participants receive an email after the class with the wine notes from the tasting, plus bonus items.

Numbers on the Day
We operate with a maximum of 16 people per tour, and need 10 bookings for a tour to proceed.
There are rare occasions when the minimum tour number of 10 isn't reached. In this instance you would be given 3 days notice in order to reschedule for a later date, or change your booking to another one of our other great wine experiences.

Spectators
This experience is not suitable for spectators.

Weather
Most of this experience occurs indoors, and is thus not usually affected by the weather.

Dress Code
Casual and comfortable clothing is recommended. Closed shoes must be worn, preferably with solid soles and good grip (no thongs, sandals or heels).

Cancellation/Transfer Booking Policy
- Please choose carefully as any changes to a booking up to 5 days before a class will incur a $25 administration fee (GST included).
- No changes (apart from attendee name), can be made to a booking less than 5 days before a tour.

Responsible Service of Alcohol
- as the tour includes wine tasting from various Sydney wineries, all participants must be over 18 years of age, unless under direct adult supervision.

- Alcohol will not be served to anyone under 18 years of age, or anyone deemed to be intoxicated
